Is there anyway you can get VDMsound to work with Dosbox? Whenever I run the dosdrv form within dosbox, it closes dosbox.
you can't and you don't need to.
dosbox comes with it's own soundblaster emulation.

When testing daggerfall sound in the setup.exe, the sound using Dosbox's Emulation is super crackly and static regardless of the settings. When using the VDM Emulation running outside of DosBox its perfectly clear with no problems. Which is why I asked.
Dosbox is not a simple DOS box, it doesn't run natively as the Windows DOS box does. Dosbox emulates everything, the CPU, sound, graphics. Which is why it is a lot slower, but runs much more games. What you are seeing (hearing) is most probably simply wrong settings: Cycles set too high, not using dynamic core, or simply a too slow PC. Search for the various guides on how to optimize your config, then you'll get clear and great sound.
