Hello everyone, hope someone can help me out.

I'm trying to install Broken Sword 1 onto my Win xp machine, but when I run the setup I get the following error:

"Could not install Directx Error Code -9"

Microsoft give a solution for this here, but the files it mentions are not on my system.

Hope someone can help.

Try scummvm. (www.scummvm.org)
It should be able to run Broken Sword 1.

Yep use ScummVM and it should run ok, check the multi-cd section of the readme for directions on installing.

I got the game working on xp a few weeks ago without using scummVM. all i did was mess around with the compadibility options for the install exe
