hey guys!!
what can i say... after weeks of prowling about on ebay.. + being upset looking at 350$ US prices for the motherboards i wanted..
i found a board.. at a local used shop.. after digging through like 40 different computers opening the cases i found one i was really happy with!!
some of you have probably seen this image before, I will take a pic of my own later but this is the board i scored! except my board is missing a few cache chips..
(it says: "cache memory: 128K" on the system configurations screen when starting up)
the video card is a Cirrus Logic VLB card "CLVGA542XVL/H Vesa Local Bus Revision 2 - is this a good card? should i replace it?
i've added in a soundblaster 16 with an awe32 upgrade card (i didnt even know these existed untill about a few weeks ago when i bought one on ebay)
its also got a VLB IO Controller by "WinBond" called "UN1082"
and a DLink Ethernet card "DE-250" Rev A1
i upgraded the ram to 4 x 16MB = 64 MB !!
and im just adding a DVD-ROM drive (can 486s even use dvd's? guess i will find out!)
Geekishly Exciting to be back in 1994 With the Asus VL/I-486SV2GX4 !!
the only thing i really need now is the C or U Shaped PS/2 mouse connector to attach to the PS/2 header on the mobo near the keyboard port..
where can i find this to buy?? anyone know?
