I have 5 current machines and a server in my modern computer room for LAN games. I guess I'll only throw up my main machine, even though I never use it unless friends are over to play games. It's too loud, hot, and hungry... 😵

I wish there was something I could do about the mess directly coming out of the PSU, but these ribbon cables are terrible. I guess I could make some individually sleeved cables, but it works and I don't want to tear it down. 🤣

It always stumbles me how much time and/or money we often spend making something awesome to never use it much. It is true for any hobby you are deeply into. It does not matter if are into modern or retro computers, cars, motorcycles, bikes, etc. There are always specimens polished to perfection which do not see much use.

It performs full client PC backups for 5 PCs, network storage for user files that need to sync across desktop and notebook PCs, bulk file storage and media streaming (using Emby Media Server). The HP system had 12 TB storage with about 7 TB usable.

NZXT 810 Switch.. great case and I doubt I will get rid of it anytime soon. I added a full water loop to it but I fried the old vid card, Radeon 4870x2, with a bit too much electrical boost and since removed it. It will go in again after I plan my next upgrade to a X97 platform.

That NZXT 810 is awesome! Just a beast. And it's nice that it does indeed have some external bays to work with. It's a very solid case and I don't blame you for not planning to get rid of it anytime soon.

Wow that's a beastly little server! I used to have mine built into an Antec ISK600 mITX case and it was great - it fit in one cube of my IKEA Expedit shelf. My hard drive collection outgrew that eventually though and it's now in an old ATX case... at one stage I had 2 or 3 drives sitting on top of the case with cables running out the back (not good for a server! 😵 ). Your Node 304 has a great layout with space for that many drives. 😀

Mine is nothing special. Phenom II x4 945, 12GB DDR3 (2x2GB, 2x4GB), 1TB hard drive (about halfway used), GeForce GT 730 w/ 2GB GDDR5 VRAM, DVD-RW drive. I tend not to be very taxing on my storage devices (the only reason my PC300GL has an 80GB was that I needed something bigger than a 20GB but I had no 30s or 40s to hand) but this is a bit of an exception, as it's my main machine and also does double duty as a file/media/FTP/PXE/UAS2 server. I run Windows 10 Home x64 on it, an upgrade from the original Windows 7 Home Premium x64, but I have been known to dual boot with various flavors of Linux (Arch is my favorite) so it's only a matter of time until I get to doing that on here too. As to whether I regret the upgrade or not, I can't really say. It works about as fast and is solid as a rock, so I'm sold.

Wow, you guys all have really new stuff. My main computer is an old IBM ThinkPad R60 that I upgrade to a T7200 and 3GB of RAM, running Debian 8.2. It's hooked up to a docking station with a second monitor attached, Scrollpoint USB ball mouse, and Model M keyboard. Almost makes it a desktop. 🤣
