Your s5 system, the modules you mention "32MB FPM RAM (Registered?)", if you want, could you post a pic of the modules?
I remember once having stripped a dual s5 or s7 system on the street and the modules you mention sound to be similar (the case was way too heavy, but I did take the chips and the memory modules and they were also FPM I think).
Here they are, front and back!

Thanks for the good quality pics 😀
Looks like parity modules 16MB (pre-Pentium systems had such modules a lot, the non-parity ones became standard after 1995 or so?). Oldest registered modules I know to exist are DIMMs, but that doesn't mean they didn't exist as SIMMs.
I'll go check my attic later and see what kind of modules I have, I have lots of memory modules that are similar to yours.
The ones I took from that server I stripped had square-shaped extra chips soldered to the modules though, never seen anything like that before and afterwards.
I don't think they are wired differently compared to "standard" FPM and EDO SIMMs and if they indeed use the same wiring, you could try them out in another (cannonfodder 😜 ) board to see if they work. But if you doubt that, then please don't 🤣!
I can't remember from top of my head if I ever tested my modules in another board, but if I have then I probably labeled them as 'tested'.
