Trying to get this great little rally game going again on Windows 10, it worked fine on Windows 8.1. I have a (verified working, again in Windows 8.1) no-cd crack to get around the Safedisc protection, but when I start the game I just get this:-

Of course I do have DirectX end-user runtimes installed, any ideas?

Nevermind, scratch that, it was a faulty copy of the ALChemy dsound.dll that was causing it. I can now start the game, but my mouse pointer is freaking out in-game. I should be okay though as I can select things with the keyboard.
