I can't remember having reversed stereo issues with Heretic before.

But recently, on my Pentium II 400MHz Build with AWE64 Gold card, the stereo effects seem to be reversed in Heretic. In other games, it's correct. Couldn't figure out why...

All the time when I hear the attacks of the enemies, I seem to turn to the opposite side... 🙁

This is indeed heresy 😀 I anticipate comments like "to properly operate the DMX engine with a AWE64 Gold, rotate your headphones 180 degrees diagonally" and so on. Nice music was supplied for DMX games, but it definitely had serious bugs. 🙁

Silly me.

It's got nothing to do with AWE64 Gold and the game engine.

AWE64 Gold comes with separate L + R Audio Out jacks. It seems that one of the L/R 2-male pins to Stereo female Y-cable for the audio that I was using was the culprit. I changed the cable - the one that came with the AWE64 Gold card, and everything is okay.

Maybe this issue does not concern many, but I just wanted to inform any solution that I find, no matter how trivial or silly it is. Might be useful. 😅
