Hey guys,
so I have a little D-Link DNS-323 NAS box sitting around unused. It has 2 3.5" SATA bays and looks like this with its removable front cover:

I also have an IDE (ATAPI) zip drive and LS-120 drive lying on my bookshelf. So I'm putting 2 and 2 together in my head here. 😉

Before I go splurge on two IDE-SATA adapters, can anyone think of a reason this *wouldn't* work? Possible reasons being, "you can't use ATAPI devices with a SATA adapter", "you shouldn't mount floppies as network drives", "the NAS box has to know the disk format natively and won't understand those", etc. Note: I don't KNOW if any of the previous are true, that's why I'm asking.

Alternate option: the reason I'm not using the D-Link is I decided to build a FreeNAS box, but I suppose I could also install the floppies in that as it's gonna have more than enough free IDE channels. Does FreeNAS expose removable drives to the network?
