I've been looking for something a bit more modern to replace my old serial/PS2 Logitech MouseMan Pro. I've been using the exact same one since the mid to late 90's <grin>... IM(NotSo)HO it's the BEST damned ball mouse EVER created 😀

I stumbled on this one the other day -> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002Y5LZ8 / http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/oas/product … html?oid=403895 ... an HP 3-button optical USB mouse, model DY651A.

Anyhow, I recently purchased one of these DY651A mice, and received it in the mail today.

An edited/modified version of my Amazon review:

One minor problem that I found was that the two little self-adhesive slider surfaces on the bottom of the mouse were coming off. This may be simply due to defective adhesive on the slider pieces, so I am going to return this one and order a replacement.

That being said, the mouse STILL slides QUITE easily and nicely on a standard mouse pad... even WITHOUT the little slider pieces.

The buttons are quite easy to push, and are "crisp" feeling with no "slop". The mouse is 460 DPI (my old Logitech is 400 DPI), tracks quite nicely, and feels similar to my old Logitech MouseMan Pro.

Anyways, if you are looking for a TRUE three-button mouse WITHOUT an IM(NotSo)HO ANNOYING wheel (or rather, as I like to call 'em, a "Pop-A-Wheelie Mouse" 🤣!), or if you're looking for something to replace your old Logitech MouseMan Pro, the HP DY651A fits the ticket quite nicely! 😀

USB to PS/2 compatible, or USB only?

I'm assuming USB-only. It didn't come with a USB to PS2 adapter, but I don't know... one of them MIGHT work (but I have a hunch, probably not).

Well, it's certainly bucking the trend, so I was sort-of hoping. Someone needs to make a three button USB+PS/2+Serial optical mouse for all us retro PC peeps. 🤣
