Haha, I did this many years ago with my 486 😁

I don't have that problem as I don't have any complete system 🤣

Everything is in parts and I setup my systems on the fly. Maybe I'll setup a few complete systems one day but most probaby never as there would be simply too many and I like to change parts a lot 🤣

I did this, as the main storage on my 386 machine. It is purely for cosmetic reason's. 😀
Just had to share, because I feel this is an awesomme idea for my build.

I use adapters with female connectors that I just plug to the motherboard's IDE male connector 😉 Then I only use the second IDE for other devices, like an optical drive.

It IS a great idea 😀

There are also CF adapters that go into the back of one of the slots, but on my 486 there was just no way to route the cable, it has a single IDE channel, so I did what you did 🤣

The controller has only one channel. 🙁

True...
I only did my 386 build (and installed it this way) because my P-166 had it's motherboard die on me.
Wich free'ed up one AT-Case for my 386.
So... Actually... The new P166 build is somewhat identical to the 386/486/Pentium-3-in-one that you have a video on.
It's a FIC PA-2013, 16mb, Number9 S3 Virge and AWE64-Gold. Need to change the SCSI to IDE. (too hot)
On the other side. My collection of working machines are now finished.

The collection is of the following CPU-Types: (classes of CPU's)
286, 386, 486, P1, P2, K6-II, K6-III, P3 and AthlonXP. (some multiple builds)
That is a total of 9 machines all in all.

I actually thought about using the CF card, adapter and IDE drive bay, but I've used CF cards so often and I wanted to use a stock standard IDE drive for a change 😀

Mate, that's genius. Particularly from my point of view because, when I bought my adaptor, I got one with a female interface. This means it hogs an entire IDE channel (I'm sure I had good reasoning at the time). I actually have a bunch of these caddies that I'm not using yet, and this is the perfect reason! 😀

Yeah... I like it. It's awesomme. It's only the M64 that I am a bit so-so on.
We all have our preferances, and I like the Number9 S3 better.
Extremely powerfull VGA output signal.

Thanks. 😀 The best part, is that the caddy are made from plastic.
Not good when a hot drive is running as there are no air circulation, yet it is great for CF card adaptors as there are no chance of shortening the adaptor. Better let that magic smoke stay inside I say. 🤣

But I could make a video on graphics card choices, something like that.

I wanted to use a S3 card, but I had nothing suitable. The S3 Trio I have, has that black level bug (there is a thread about this). The cards have fans (Savage4 and 2000).

I thought about using V3 or Banshee, but they run hot / draw a lot of power. Not good for Super Socket 7 boards.

Nvidia TNT2 has great compatibility, cheap, easy to find, I mean the TNT2 M64 is like everywhere!

So yea, that's why I went with the TNT2 M64 😀

I managed to buy one S3 Trio 64v+ and i had 0 issues, it was pretty easy to find but i just found 2 of them available , im currently testing the hardware for my 3 in 1 build with one amd k6-2 400 clocked at 166(66x2.5)
But the final processor will be one pentium 133.
Well im hiding my cf adapter in a plastic 5.25 to 3.5 and 2.5 adapter that came with my old gaming case
Its like one of these.
