Hey, what mobo are you using? I dont seem to remember any DDR boards for P3. Are you sure its not SDRAM? Even then, I thought 512MB was the end of the line on i815?

All right, finally did a WinXP run on my x1950 AGP + A64 3700+ @ 2.75GHz. It didn't break the 30K barrier like I thought it would, but very close.

Seeing all your scores there makes me want to boot my AthlonXP system just to throw it into the ring and see how it compares.. I might just do that here for a minute and see where it ranks up against your systems.

It's an AthlonXP Barton-400-FSB chip @ 2.5 ghz with a 6800 ultra. Given your results I would guess in the 16k - 18k range.

EDIT: I was close.. 15.5k.

I bet the driver version is making a difference. I was using 81.98 on all of the systems I tested except for the Win7 box.

It's a QDI Advance 12T board, based on the Apollo Pro 266T chipset. This board has 3 DIMM slots and will take up to 3GB of DDR, although the chipset itself supports 4GB on boards with 4 slots.

Dang, that's right up there with my best Socket 939 Win7 score. Didn't think I'd ever see that kind of performance from a Netburst rig. 🤣
ZALHAeV.png

Now I'm curious. What does it score under WinXP? I was able to pull just over 47K with the S939 system.

@up Try GPU-z in 7.2 version.

Well it's less than expected in Win XP, but NV drivers aren't that great for Win XP (GTX 780 Ti is really pushing it on driver optim. side).
Here's a interesting thing tho - what's the slowet VR capable PC : LINK 😀

Here's a "Yonah" Core Duo T2600 on a desktop board overclocked to 3.08GHz. The IPC is right between K8 and Core 2. The performance is really impressive when compared against Intel's desktop processor at the time - Pentium D.

Here's one of the older Atom CPUs from the netbook craze. This one is an Atom N470 with GMA 3150 graphics. It is amazingly slow. Performance is similar to a Celeron-1400 with a Voodoo3! In fact, the only reason it scores higher than the V3 is because it can run Game 4. If you look at the numbers for Game 1-3, you'll see that the Celeron/V3 combo is actually pushing higher frame rates!

3DMark03:
This is even slower than a 64-bit FX5200. Compared to a Core i7 gaming rig with a GTX 970 graphics card, the little Atom is an astounding 304 times slower!

Jesus, that thing is insane, 5Ghz Pentium D, with hyperthreading, nice ! You should measure it to see how many watts its pulling from the wall.

@5GHz It's too much for MB's VRM to handle it in the long run 🙁
Whole rig = 250W from the wall IDLE.
With CPU Only tests (like Cinebench), it can spike up to 450W (usually hovers around ~430W) from the wall.

BUT @4,93GHz VRM's are holding 😀
It looks like this (game load) : LINK
I dare FX-9590 to beat it in load power draw 😉

Do you have a personal thread on this beast somewhere? I'd like to see some cpu benchmarks from it like wprime / cinebench, so I can see it's perfrormance vs some other machines I have.

Q6700 running at 4GHz on an Asus P45/DDR3 motherboard with a GTX 680. It's pretty fast!

TWYnv8L.png

Quick comparison with some other CPUs I've tested. All benched on WinXP SP3 with a GTX 560 unless indicated otherwise:
Pentium 4 520 @ 3.73GHz (GTX 260): 29488
Pentium M @ 2.7GHz: 42810
Opteron 185 @ 3.13GHz: 47464
Core Duo "Yonah" T2600 @ 3.08GHz: 50329
Core 2 Duo E7500, 2.93GHz: 54630
Q6700 @ 3.33GHz on nForce 650i: 57742
Phenom II x6 @ 3.1GHz (GTX 760): 59384
Q6700 @ 4GHz on P45/DDR3 (GTX 680): 74592
i7-4930K @ 4.6GHz (GTX 680): 116074

I did some quick testing of what could possibly be the lowest IPC processor in the universe: the 2.6GHz Northwood Celeron.

Of the benchmarks I've run on this CPU, 3DMark 2000 seems to hate it most. It just seems absurdly sensitive to L2 cache size, at least with P4-type processors. The Northwood Celeron falls so hard in this particular benchmark that an old Voodoo3 equipped Tualeron actually doesn't look too shabby!

Celeron-1400, Voodoo3-3000 OC, 512MB PC100 CL2.

Celeron 2.6GHz, Radeon 9250 128-bit PCI, 1GB DDR266 CL2:
yn6G3oq.png

Now you may be thinking that the PCI Radeon 9250 is holding back the Celeron a little. Well...nope. With the same video card, a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 scores around twice as high. This is just a basic 400MHz FSB P4, too. It's also running on the same motherboard.

Take a look at the massive difference in texture rendering speed between the Celeron and the P4. The P4 is over three times faster at 64MB texture rendering!

WPrime @ 4,8GHz (Termal stable, since it's more important in this case) :
jIb3qBB.png
I can go lower on 32M score but that lowers performance on 1024M.
It's combination of Heat and Ambient Temp scaling - nothing I can do (it's summer where I live) 🙁

And 5,01GHz SuperPI 1M score 😀 :

The only problem with SuperPi is it's a single-threaded test unless you use the multi-threaded version. I have a copy.. if you want it let me know (The website is gone from history and archive.org doesn't have it either).

Thank you for sharing though. Have you looked to see if you can score any golden cups or 1st place marks for your P4 platform with hwbot.org? It may be worth your time to go take a little browse through and see.. you might have some world's 1st place rankings capable there.

Yeah see the above post for hwbot.org and look there too.
