I've seen talk of Terratec sound cards before. But know nothing about them. Googled this and didn't come up with much. Does anyone know anything about them?

I tested one a while back for SoftMPU and found it to work. Has DOS drivers and claims SB Pro compatibility.
Based on Analog Devices AD1816A. No advantages I can see over (for example) a YMF718 card.

An old discussion on another page, in German, see posts by CptKlotz:

(OPL emulation is unfaithful, far from ESS- based Terratec cards)
Not a full height card, you would also need an extension cable for a daughterboard. Has good MIDI buffering, though (no hanging notes)

I am definitely not an audiophile, but I do appreciate quality sound in my games. Generally, I gage how I like a soundcard based on how Doom sounds on it. I know very little about modern soundcards though.
