Something I came across while browsing Ebay

Now the bidding price is above of what I would be willing to pay for it, as I wouldnt give more than 30 Euros for it, however these alleged Geforce 960s still have my attention, as when you go to the videos card section this is the first thing that comes up:

Why I find this interesting is that, while these cars have Nvidia GTX 960 branding, the closest card to those specs would be a Radeon 7850... (1024 stream processors, 256 bit data bus, 2 6-pin PCIe power, core clock, etc.).

Has anyone here come across one of these? Are they actual GTX 960s or are my suspicions correct? If so, how are they still selling these under that name and no one who bought one reported anything or even wrote a negative review?

Yes, both are fake... seems to be some kind of GF104/114 board. So most likely GTX 460/560/560Ti.

Those are reflashed 560s as anyone can edit the roms to look like something else, don't see this on the US eBay but I wouldn't be surprised that this crap is common in Europe. Just report the listing for fake goods and move on.

I'd easily buy one if I was in the hunt for a 960, I'm not much into these and I'm certainly not able to understand that they're fake. We should all report similar things.
Just so that people like me learn, because of what exactly you're all sure they're fake 960's?

The provided specs are a giveaway. 960 uses 128 bit memory, this is 256. 960's default clock speed is around 1200, this is 820. The display output ports are also something from 5 years ago. On the box it states it can do 2560x1600 resolution, while an actual 960 can do 4K.

Most of those I've seen on the internet turned out as 9800GTs. Pretty lame that people still get sucker-punched by scammers on this day and age.

I wouldn't call it lame. Not everyone is interested in gaming cards, or follows developments and knows specs. If that kind of person, myself definitely included in this category, for once decides to buy a gaming card, he can easily fall for such scams that seem so obvious for others.
