That's REALLY sweet. I've spent several months looking for a similar case and I can really imagine how hard it can be.

Who's the manufacturer, by the way? I usually see cases like this in OEM builds and as such, there is usually no mention of the case brand. Makes me wonder, who made all those cases.

Not sure yet, box is ultra-generic but the model is TT-701E.

Good catch on that AT case. They are nowere to be found in Denmark, and especially not as "NOS".

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

That's an awesome case, I recently got a NOS AT case but it's a boring late 90s mini-tower with no MHz display or turbo button. Those desktop style cases like yours are IMO much better than mini-towers for various reasons (fits well on a desk, cable management seems easier due to the drives being closer to the board, and I just think they look great 😁).

In fact, I would rather use a desktop case for my modern PC if there wasn't such a limited amount of options for ATX and mATX boards. Looks like they have gone out of style and only giant towers must be used now. 😢

I know every city & country has a different market. But while the first case is a bit unusual & might be cool for some, the second definitely looks like something you should be able to find for free or a couple of bucks. $60? I mean, really??

Thrift store finds were very poor for me lately, but I did get a couple optical drives.

Thrift store #1 was good to me, got 2 silver DVD drives (one of them even is a burner, not bad!).

In another thrift store I bought 3 white DVD drives (2 burners and a white DVD ROM drive with a Creative logo on the front, which is what made me take this one). This particular thrift store had lots of these dives, and because I already have kinda enough optical drives already (but didn't wanna leave empty handed 😁), I got these 3.
And last but certainly not least I hope, a SCSI CDROM burner! 😁
I knew it was old when I saw it, even had a little fan in the back (something which I only saw once before), but because of it being a SCSI optical drive, I just couldn't leave it 🤣

I probably overpaid. But I bought a pair of NIB Elsa Erazor X video cards (Geforce 256 32MB) for a total of 36 USD Shipped. Now the only question is will I open them or not.

Wait wth someone had 8 New old stock GF256's and was selling them for 25 each? How much are you willing to bet a reseller bought the rest and they'll show up for 100 plus USD a piece here soon? I wish i would have seen that, sadly im guessing that sold out quick 🤣

Still amazes me whenever NIB deals like this pop up. The DDR version would have been even better, but still, what a great buy!

Finally got the remote for the Fujitsu PCTV i mentioned 1½ week ago - this is needed to go from TV mode to PC Mode - and fortunately, this works like a dream.

Dual sync monitor - I'm loving it. I had the fear that it would be some interlaced useless image, but everything is good 😉

Cool... the insane part of me wonders if this could be used in conjunction with the the Orchid Tiny Turbo 286 8bit ISA card I have in my IBM 5150. Something tells me 486 CPU attached to a 286-ready 8bit ISA card, which then connects via a ribbon cable to the CPU socket on the motherboard (which is meant for a 4.7Mhz 8088) most likely wouldn't work... but if I owned them both I'd certainly try it. 😮

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

SBC with K6-2/300 and 32MB RAM. Looking for a manual, or specs. I've seen several similar boards on ebay or in other places but I can't seem to find out who made them or documentation. I couldn't resist for the price.

I/O, I/O,
It's off to disk I go,
With a bit and a byte
And a read and a write,

Bouht another ISA soundcard. I plan to get some break, as it's getting a bit insane.

Today I bought Turtle Beach Tropez Classic you can see below. I was looking for this model for it's good SB compatibility. Other TB ISA soundcards don't seem to be good DOS performers. So this guy I bought it from also has Multisound Classic, Tahiti and Pinnacle (and others), but really only Tropez interests me, as it was built mostly for dos gaming.

I bought it together with Music Quest Midi Interface. For TB Tropez I payed ~50USD shipped.

Now I think my 'collection' only lacks some Roland card, but I simply cannot find any good offer for LAPC-I (and probably will not ever find it) or SCC-1

I don;t understand how everybody here is so rich as to be able to spend 50 USD on a little known ISA soundcard. Its getting harder and harder to compete with all of you guys on a 25 dollars a week budget 0.o

Well, I don't feel like I'm rich. But when you're in the claws of addiction, you can justify to yourself spending bigger sums easier and easier... Again, I did not buy any LAPC-I for 500 dolars or Adlib Gold for 3K... My disease just did not develop to that point yet. And when it does, I asked my wife to put me in isolation.

But you have the point here: I really shouldn't spend that much money on retro stuff. 50$ is the point where I'm leaving my comfort zone.

About Turtle Beach Tropez... Is it really that little known? I thought it was quite popular amongst our fellow ISA junkies 😉
