How about doing national meetup's or even regional meetup's within a country?
As an example.... Vogons-NewYork-Meetup, and Vogons-Berlin-Meetup.

Yeah... As far as I know, we are 3 (possible 4) Danish members all in all on Vogons.
There are more Amiga users than vintage pc users in Denmark.
That said, there might be enough people for a combined vintage computer-"thing".

EDIT
When I think about it. There are actually an anual national sensible soccer tournament.
I think they have held it for the last 16 years or so. It's within the Amiga community.

For a Vogons something. It would be nice to blend workshops, cooking, bond-fire,
improvised basketball game's, lan-gaming, laserdisc/vhs-cinema and other stuff.

Well, I live in southern Idaho, United States, so that's a pretty long drive to any "central" location for any regional meetup. But I'll be in school at Boulder this year, so a meetup in Denver would be totally doable. Hmm.

I might be interested in something like this, but I doubt we'd find a venue that would work for everyone.

Well, I would be down for travelling anywhere in Europe for sure. Maybe even the US if I can combine it with a visit to my brother in LA. Perhaps it would be best to piggyback onto an existing event? That way the logistics are handled by someone else, everyone just pays for their ticket.

e.g.

Long Night of Games in Leipzig
or even something massive like The Gathering in Norway

I'd suggest seeing how keen VCF is on handling 90's PCs exhibitors yet, for Europe there's a show in Munich and Switzerland 😁

Given the extreme distances of members this will likely never materialize. US / AU / EU / CA / CN / MY / ZA / BR / UY / ID / RU. Far flung. Plus most are not wealthy / live in the 2nd or 3rd world so paying $2K for a trip is a lot to ask.

Correct.

But someone else mentioned something about national ones which will never gonna work out, but I do know that for me personally this would be doable, theres quite a few Dutch people here.

I think organizing such a feat is not an easy task, but I don't see many problems with doing simpler visits.
And since I live near Amsterdam, I wouldn't mind the idea of meeting up with a Vogons member who happens to be visiting Amsterdam as a tourist as this is really nearby anyway, if only for a beer 😁
