Hi guys, this is a problem that's been bugging me as an overseas buyer like many of us here, and maybe someone could help.

I've been missing a lot of good deals (specifically from US) because of shipping costs, sellers using Global Shipping Program and/or not wanting to ship using First Class International. Add to that buying multiple items from different sellers, and it becomes more and more prohibitive in terms of costs.

My question: Do you know of a reliable combined/consolidated shipping service based in the US? Have you had any experience with such services (e.g. Viabox)?

I use the PayPal service, HopShopGo, based in Oregon. Recently brought 6 items over to Australia at US$12 postage each, where the average GSP shipping was $20-$30 average. That was my fourth shipment so I estimate savings in the region of $200+ in the past 12 months. It has worked well for me so far.

@JidaiGeki, I'll look into HopShopGo, thanks! 😀

Thanks for the tip I'll check that out too. I've used Shipito for the last couple of years but they've jacked up the price of consolidation over that time, and that combined with our miserable exchange rate is making it quite an expensive proposition. Great service tho, I haven't lost a single item in that time.

I use ShopMate. It doesn't consolidate, but it's part of Australia Post and the service is excellent. They also ship to my PO box which is important. Not the cheapest service, but I only use it occasionally.

I just tried a simulation and the costs to ship for me are twice as expensive as GSP. Shipito is still the best option for me, despite they got a little more expensive in the past 2 years.

Alright I'm going to HAVE to try one of them soon. Because.. I've pulled the first triggers already. 😎

So now it's between HopShopGo and Shipito, and I don't think I should discard Viabox just yet (I don't know... I still have no idea until someone shared their experiences).

By the way. do you get a real human person customer service, chat-friendly possibly, with the service you used before? Visual/photo proof of your items?

Update: OK, now I'm seeing more warning about Viabox (used to be VIadress)

Update 2: Alright, I've settled on this relatively fresh service Vyking Ship based in Minneapolis, MN. From what I've been reading, they seem to have very good reputation in terms of transparency of costs and reliability (and actually helpful customer service). Gives free storage of up to 180 days for every package that came into your account as well. Website/interface looks modern and concisely functional & informational instead of trying to oversell itself like some others seem to be. I'll update more as it goes and share about my experience with this service.

Thank you for everyone who have suggested their experiences! Very much appreciated. 😀
