Hi,
I built this config: K6-2+ 500ACZ on MVP3,384MB CL2,10GB,AWE64 standard and this Radeon 7200 with the original Radeon gpu with 64MB SDR and Win ME. I updated 4in1 drivers and in the system panel it shows the Via cpu to agp latest drivers. The problem is that in 3dmark it says pci on the system info and in dxdiag agp can't be tested. Is a problem of this "modern" card or just the chipset doesn't support something it need to detect it? Or maybe I didn't install it correctly?
Thank

This is a VIA Driver issue, wipe the VIA Driver.
I also had problems running AGP at full speed..
The latest VIA is not the Best Driver at all. Its optimized for newer Stuff and works slower on older.
You are better off using a older Version.

It's strange I updated with this whql drivers and they show in the system panel, even Sandra says agp 2x is enabled but 3dmark still shows "PCI" like the Voodoo3 did.

I installed old drivers (catalyst 2) that had no panel cause they seems lighter on memory. But diagnostic says bus type agp 1x.2x.4x. I need to install some tweaker to check.

GPU drivers often disable AGP features in an effort to get some level of stability on VIA chipsets of that period.

I think that is the problem cause every other cards seems to use AGP correctly. Now trying a Rage 128 pro "Ultra" and it definetely use the AGP. I think that the Radeon chipset put itself in some "compatibility" mode cause even when faster games are not smoother.

I read on an old Anandtech review that ATI had lots of issues with the Rage cards and Super Socket 7 platform.

I should test the 7200 in my Alladin V.
Would that help?

My Radeon 7200 used to run fine under my Pentium MMX 233 setup, but it was way overkill, doing that quake 2 ran with 20 fps vs 40 - 50 from voodoo 3
