On this p1-233 computer the adlib output is daisychained to the guspnp cd-in. On windows98, only the guspnp can do pcm with it's codec. Both adlib and guspnp drivers are being well setup on device manager. I can run anything just fine with the adlib on command.com. And since I setup in VGMPlay.ini:
FMPort = 388
FMForce = True
VGMPlay.exe can use the adlib opl to playback Sega Master System vgm/vgz music (FM and PSG). I can verify that by muting the cd-in of the guspnp. The problem is when I try to achieve the same using in_vgm.dll with winamp. It always use the software emulator (verified using the guspnp mixer and it sound softish). I have did try many edit in in_vgm.ini but none was a success (in_vgm.dll create the .ini in the good directory). I start to think that in_vgm.dll dont support hardware opl at all? I have spent some time reading in_vgm and vgmplay forums but have not found any clear information stating so, it look like in_vgm.dll should support hardware playback, or maybe they mean it emulate it... I have not found clear information about it, so has anyone every made it using hardware playback with in_vgm, and if yes, how?
