I just got that board locally with another no-name vx board (this one is a TX board and it seems very nice). The VX board is fine (I got another VX from the same place few month ago) but this one doesn't POST at all ... It came with a 6x86MX chip which had a missing pin. There is some green residue on the CPU and on the socket so I thought it might be corroded but I looked through the holes and the pins inside the socket were shining ... I also tried both AT and ATX psu, but still nothing ...
I used a pmmx 200 in order to make sure that the missing pin on the 6x86 wasn't preventing the board to start, but it didn't help. I think that few days ago the keyboard's light were getting on and then off but now it doesn't do that anymore ... Also few days ago, it outputed a POST code in the PCI and ISA slot, but I didn't check that again, the code wasn't changing though. It was stuck to the same value (can't remember what it was but I don't think that would be useful)
I don't know what to do now, this board looked so good 🙁
Oh and why did I mention the VX chipset earlier ? Because trough all the socket 7 motherboards I own only VX board are alive for some reason 🤣 anything else seems completely dead ... Ali, HX and now TX ... I now have three VX boards, but all I want is a better motherboard, not the exact same thing 🙁
I thought about removing the moving part of the socket (I don't know how to do that without destroying everything though) to check further if really it hasn't been damaged. I'll reflash the bios too in order to verify if it's just a bad flash/an old virus
