Hello all, a family friend recently died and his relatives need to open his business-related Word and Excel 2016 documents that have password protection. Can anyone recommend a program to do this? What would be a good hardware setup?

Is this too much voodoo?

Try opening them with LibreOffice. Sometimes it will open such files without a password prompt.

In case that doesn't work, try this:
