hello all

i've just installed dosbox 0.63 on my fedora 3 box, i have mount settlers 2 as c:\s2\, but i can't run the game. I tried to lauch start.bat, setup.exe, s2.exe, always getting a Illegal command error...

1C:\S2>s2.exe
2Illegal command: s2.exe.

did i miss some step somewere ? thx for your help 😀

What do you see if you run the 'dir' command?

i see the list of the file in the directory...

i've just tried colonization, and it works well, but still the same problem with settlers 2

Can you run this command:
dir > files.txt

And then paste or attach the files.txt that gets created?

maybe try running s2 instead of s2.exe? or settler2?

i allready tried this without success... i'm going to try to download the game from another source, maybe it was corrupted...

you can also try to check the rights set for the files, or starting dosbox with sudo...

oh i didn't think about this at all. anyway i dl'd another archive of the game from another site and it works. the only problem is the game is reaaaally slow... i'll spend some time on the config file when i get some time to spare.
