Stub error (2003): can't find dpmi.000.

Any suggestions on what this means and how to fix it?

And just to be more specific, I already mounted the file, changed the directory, and I got this error message when I typed in the name of the application. I have made sure that everything was not read-only.

What is the game, and what version of DOSBox are you using?

The game is Jazz Jackrabbit, and the version is 0.63.

And just a quick note, I don't actually own the game. I downloaded it off of dosgamearchives.com, if that makes any difference.

I just grabbed that version from that site. I have no idea what you mean by "Win32 Installer". I was able to get it working under the latest CVS version of DOSBox, although the sound was extremely choppy (seems it uses MOD music). Sound is a lot less choppy in Gravis Ultrasound mode, but still annoying.

Win32 is just what it said was the name for the Windows version of DOSBox. Now to be as specific as possible, this is what I did in the command list:

Z:\>mount C C:\oldgames\
(oldgames is the name of the folder where I had the application)

Z:\> C:

C:\> cd jazzj (Jazzj was the name of the folder in the oldgames folder where I had the application)

JAZZJ>JAZZ.EXE (press enter)
Stub error (2003:) can't find dpmi.000

So, have I done anything wrong? How can I fix this problem? And I've also noticed that this topic has gotten a lot of views but not very many posts. If you view the topic and know of a solution, I would appreciate any help that can be given.

Thank you very much. I really should have done that in the first place.

Did you run the sound setup program first?

Thank you so much! It is, unfortunately, only a one episode demo that I was able to complete in about half an hour. I'm thinking about getting the full version off of Ebay, because this is one of my all-time favorite games and I have never played the full version.
