Hi here, bear with me, English is not my best part since I am deaf as well.
Not to rehash the old topic on 2D video for most part, what I do not know are not period correct video cards that supports vesa 2 and 3? Geforce4 MX460, GeForce4 Ti4400 etc does have vesa 2 and 3? These cards are much cheaper these days.

Also I notice the discussion on games compatibility with video card. If I am not picking some games will I be ok for most part as this compatibility issue is few and far between?

Cheers, pentiumspeed

I'm not clear on whether VBE3 is even needed for any DOS games. Quake is the only DOS game I'm aware of that takes advantage of VBE2.

Check out this page, it says which VBE version each card uses in the first column on the left:

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

Did not looked closely that there is VBE version for each video card tested.

Aren't there a lot of games that require NOLFB to run in the NTVDM on 2K/XP, since there's no VESA 2.0 support there?

Duke Nukem 3D and Swing (for some reason) are the first that come to mind.
