Here it is, from some late 90s Toyota Corolla. This seat was sitting in my basement for several years. The easy part was cutting up the wood and measuring. The hard part was putting these damn bolts in and making sure everything was alright. If I only had a metal grinder... hence why the chair sits slightly angled but works fine otherwise. Those little metal rods were a royal pain to work with.... How it's put together from the bottom.... donor office chair has pneumatic height adjustment and it swivels. The chair reclines as well! The last picture, it is next to the first one I made 5 years ago, from a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe one is comfier but I like how both came out.

Neat.
I like this idea, if I had a old car seat I'd make one too.

Find one from a junkyard near by in good condition, bolt it to a piece of wood, and attach the base of an office chair to the wood.

Yeah they're both quite comfortable! Cheaper than a new office chair too

That's pretty cool, although the chair has no armrest.

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

Or just one.
Not that you really need two. But yeah, two aorm rest would be nice. If I ever make one I'll be sure fabbing up a arm rest.
