Leaning heavily towards GeForce 6800, since it is the last nvidia native AGP GPU. I have fever tried any bridged chips and not sure of their issues. I was looking at some ATI stuff as well.
I got in the silicon USB covers and I like them even if it just keeps me from using them by accident. I also got the intel stock cooler in and I am happy with it for the E5800 CPU which is the fastest CPU the board will take without overclocking the chipset.
I am going to try Windows ME with DirectX 7 and a nvidia utility to see if I get fog in thief 2. The GeForce PCI 5200 or a MX440 will be used if it doesn't work. I have heard conflicting information about it. I have also considered Voodoo2 or if I can find a cheap Voodoo3 which I don't think exists.
Also looking at bumping the RAM up to 1GB of DDR400
Thought about using an Audigy 5.25" front panel but I would only use the headphone jack so I will wire the case front audio to the Audigy front audio with an adapter cable. I might put a haedphone amplifier in between the two internally. Something like 12dB, maybe 20 for simplicity and stability sake, of voltage gain and good current for 32-Ohm cans.
