I installed ArticFox and tried to run it under DosBox. It starts up OK but on the first screen you are supposed to hit F2 to start the game. There are also some other selection for the F keys and none of them do anything. The screen does appear to reset itself when you hit one of the F keys. Any ideas on what might cause this?

Still no ideas on how to fix this. Of course this is a really old game 😅

The CGA (IBM PC) version works fine while Tandy 16c version doesn't respond to function keys keypresses. DOSBox 0.63 under Windows XP. You need to run it at a very low cycles ratio. This game did run too fast even on a 386. 😎

I tried the CGA version first and it did not run. Any other settings that may help? And what is a very low cycles ratio? Where is that set ? I set the cycles low but it did not help.

Be sure to run the game using AFOX.BAT

Also, set machine=cga under dosbox.conf.

🙁 Well I tried that and no success. I am installing DosBox on another PC on the old lan and will see if it works there 😜

Same thing happens. I wonder if there is more than one version of this as this has a Tandy 1000/3000/4000 sticker on the box(er more like a folder) I think the Tandy was slightly diffrent that a regular PC but it used to run on an 8086 with no problem. 🙄

Probably. I don't have this game. I downloaded it from Underdogs to do the testing.

Only CGA and HERCULES modes, unfortunately. 😠
