I've heard this game is somewhat speed sensitive and might behave poorly on faster systems. What kind of system are you running on?

you should run that game in a computer that matches closely the system requirements like a pentium 133 or so
here is some info: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Lego_Island#Ins … ions_of_Windows

thanks but its impossible to find a system like that here in new zealand

Well, you could try using DosBox with Windows 95 installed. The game needs a slow processor and uses software rendering, using dosbox that way should do it well.

More of your craziness, Nothing wrong with running windows in dosbox. I use dosbox to run 16bit windows apps alot. works fine. with win3.1. 9x it a little tricky to get running at first, but once you get it up and going its fine.

Of course if you run into any problems, you're on your own.

There are plenty of people out there that would be willing to help

Here is a guide on running 95 in dosbox

Guide - Windows 95 on DOSBox 0.74

Site with some info on running 95 in dosbox
http://dosbox95.darktraveler.com

And its listed as supported on the dosbox site

Expecting support form a free open source emulator devs/maintainers is backwards thinking to begin with.
However there are a number of folks that use dos box to run 9x so finding help would not be all that hard.

And let's be honest dosbox is a dos system emu, 9x is at it roots a dos app.
95 Is even marked as being supported on dos box's website.

States dos box supports running 95 in version .74 .73 and .65

and 9x is differently a dos app, just a very overly complicated poorly written one.

EDIT:
But now we are getting off topic and none of this is helping the OP.

The compatibility list is user submitted. If the op wants to run the game in an emulator then it'll likely run fine in an emulator that supports 9x as a guest like pcem.

Also no it definetly is not. You should read up on it since it's pretty interesting.

And if you run into a bug specific to Win9x, who's going to patch it?

DOSBox is great for DOS because of speed control and support for DOS relevant hardware. Why try to force it into doing something it's not intended for (unless you want to know if it can be done)? Other visualization and emulation platforms are so much better for hosting Windows. Find one that allows CPU throttling and you're good.

What are you going to do when X dos app has a bug?
So many apps have problems with dosbox but I don't think its devs are going to do anything. .74 has been the newist version for 7 years now.
