Radeon 7000 is a late 2000 part. The rest of that machine is early 1999

You never upgraded computer parts back in the day?

I've kept sound cards in builds for years as well as upgrade video cards multiple times before I built a new machine.

My main rig I have now is using a Lian Li case from 2005. The rest of the parts are from about 2013 onwards except for the 10Gb fiber NIC that was meant for a NetApp SAN.

Radeon 7000 is actually an early 2001 part IIRC, but still it's not out of place at all. Especially for 1999/2000 PCs restricted to PCI VGA upgrades, being upgraded with Radeon 7000/9200/9250 PCI cards for the next few years was not uncommon at all. I run a G450 PCI in my Optiplex GX110, and that is also a 2000 card. I'm actually considering upgrading it to either a 7000 or 9250 PCI. I probably should.

Just got ARK2000PV - They say that it should be faster in DOS than Tseng ET6000.
EDIT:
Checked DOS (Doom) performance and it's a little faster than both ET6000 and ET6100. But still ET6000 gives the best image quality in my opinion (good brightness and saturated colors)

Just snagged this on eBay, I paid too much (almost $60US) but you don't exactly see clean Cyrix 5x86s very often--especially a 4x multiplier variant. The seller claims it's NOS and warranties it for 2 years, so I guess I can't complain too much.

I'm curious to see how it will do at 4x33MHz...

Pictures to come, but I picked up a few things at the recyclers today. I paid 10$ each.

Toshiba 430CDT
Pentium 120
32MB of RAM
ESS688 + YMF262 sound (!!!!!!)
A somewhat failing install of Win98, somewhat abused mouse buttons, but otherwise in fair shape.
Super psyched about the sound onboard, looks like good DOS compatible stuff. And Toshiba still has the drivers, for Win3.1/95/NT3.51

Acer Travelmate 720
Pentium II 300
Neomagic video and audio of some sort.
Honestly I didn't look as closely at this one, it booted up no issues, and again Acer has the core drivers for Win98

Asus K7M with what I think is a 750 Mhz K7 Athlon, and no visibly faulty caps.

That's basically the machine I pulled out the other day to assist me and then wat? no floppy? doh! Well mine's got a 133 I think. Hinges are going though.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Actually I ended up getting the external floppy with the Toshiba, which was nice.

I have a very similar motherboard, they are overengineered like hell and built like tanks, most mobos selled today will be long out of business and X58 mobos will still function like the day they were made 🤣.

Oh nice.... I guess if I really wanted I could try using a USB floppy with it, but that's probably going to be a fustercluck with early usb implementations in hard and software.

Not hardware but found five sealed boxes of Win98SE and bought them all for A very reasonable price. Not sure what I'll do with all five, but bought them anyway. I'll likely sell all but one.

The guy also has 3 HP 15" monitors sealed in boxes, took one out of the box to take a photo for me. Not sure if these are worth buying, but VOGONS would know better so here goes nothing:

I believe these HP monitors weren't even highend when they came out but due to the fact that supply is dwindling down rapidly these days we should treat every single survivor with appreciation.
Nice score on the W98SE boxes. Are they in good condition or wrinkled and bent to death like so many others?

They are basically like they came out of the factory yesterday:

Well come to think of it the box art style is FE and it says NEW EDITION in the star not SECOND EDITION so I suppose they may be Win98FE.
