This week I got this monster...about 15 kg.
I spotted a Suntac 80286 Mainboard for almost nothing on a selling site. It was still in a case and I asked the seller to send me the case too 😀
It came together with a Seagate ST-277R-1 RLL Harddisk with manual and unused plastic front.
He even shipped the keys fitting to the case. Everything looks totally unsed. Will send details about the board in another thread later 😉
Great deal and very happy about it 😀
Oh boy, luckybob is going to go apeshit over the case. 🤣 (he has one just like it)
Nice to see it lit up. It really is a looker.

I've got another friend who recently got a 386 in this case, and I want one SO BAD. 🤣

Nobody can beat Artex! Looks like you need move your collection to Fort Knox very soon. :)

That Maui card, as already mentioned, looks more than good - got an awesome sturdy look to it.
Got a VirgeDX for my P66 and another Riva128(ELSA brand which always have a nice quality pcb). Pretty happy to have a few Rive128s as they are a joy for DOS and even Windows. Quake does not run stable on either of the 486 boards... maybe a driver issue.
I had to buy the VirgeDX for the P66 as it does not work with the higher quality Riva cards.
At first I wanted TNTs for the old computers but the Riva appears better suited and I never owned them in their heyday - so it was nice to see another part of rasterization history.
I've bought an ATI RAGE II+DVD PCI graphics card, looks like some piss poor version with 4/8 VRAM chips. I was surprised to see on the Wiki that it's ~50% of the already extremely poor ATI RAGE XL that I have in my dual P3 server.
Just bought another Roland SB-55 Sound Brush. 😁

Had one for a while in a 486, nice card for very old computers but no match in any way or form if you want somewhat "modern" functionality. Always gave me the feeling that there existed at least 400 million other cards out there... something like a zero value/surplus vibe emanating from it. On a more positive note it had only like two caps which where high quality ones.
Isn't a Virge a bit too high end for a Socket 4 system?

Mine had a 486, but I was totally expecting a 286/386 inside. If you ever get rid of that case, hit me up first.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
Did you ever get yours powered on?
yea, the board was toast though. damn batteries.

This is the one I have, pretty much in mint condition (already gave it a good wash in soapy water)
Found these at a local shop. $25 for both, apparently working:
Not sure what I'll do with them yet, as my primary interest in hardware of this vintage is the lower-end stuff. (I don't even have a PSU w/ 6-pin cable, or an adapter, handy to test them with...)
I'm a little skeptical of the Nvidia one, though. Is this affected by that lead-free solder fiasco (whatever it's called, bumpgate maybe?) of the time?
I like those 2004-2007 GPU's too, just bought myself a very nice, boxed Gainward 8800GT 1GB DDR3:
Since I got most of my PSU's for dirt cheap, my 775 rig has a Corsair CS650M, a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W sits in my Lanparty DR-Expert + Athlon FX60 and my main rig has a Corsair AX1500i.
Plenty enough power and when I need a PSU on the cheap I grab a Corsair VS450/550. Very basic units but working perfectly with almost any GPU.

Nice Philips chips for that sweet, sweet CMS sound.

NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT - XFX nVidia GeForce 7950GT 512MB AGP (G71) (Boxed) (2006) Definitely overpaid for this but A) It's hard to find the AGP version vs PCIe, and B) it's complete in box. Fastest AGP card folks...
I'm jealous at that great gear you got Artex.
But I'm not sure whether to laugh, smile, or cringe at the masked anthropomorphic hellhound. I'm glad video card manufacturers have toned down their box art. Apparantly the folks at XFX were into doggies on their boxes.

Speaking of GeForce 6200, I have one that has 512MB DDR3 (8x and 4x), which is nice. I also have the PCI version.
