Hi,

A friend of mine has been wrecking his brain over his VooDoo2 graphics card
It is supposed to be a 12MB version but whatever he does, whatever driver he installs, the total texture memory is shown as 8MB's.

Then I started thinking, isn't it supposed to be like that?
8MB Texture and 4MB frame buffer, or does it have to be 12MB texture and a 4MB frame buffer?

8MB texture memory and 4MB framebuffer is correct.

Ahhhhhh see, so a 12MB VooDoo2 is 8MB texture and 4MB framebuffer.

So an 8MB VooDoo2 would be like 4MB texture and 4MB framebuffer, am I right?

That is correct.

Actually only 2mb for textures to store in this case

Yes,you're correct 😉. An 8mb Voodoo2 has 2mb per Texturing unit(2x2=4). A 12mb card has 4mb per TMU instead (8 in total).
