I'm posting here to see if anyone else has had a similar problem with unlocking Glidos, and if anyone knows how to fix it. Here's the problem:

I bought Glidos some time ago for my previous computer. Everything worked out well. However, when I install Glidos on my new computer, it will never unlock. I've put the new GlidosID into the unlock service on the Glidos site to get new Authorization codes. The codes install correctly as well. However, Glidos is never actually unlocked. I've tried restarting the computer after "unlocking" Glidos, but that does nothing. The Glidos Logo remains. It's like Glidos is not reading the Authority.txt file. I've also checked to make sure that the GlidosID doesn't change while playing a game. And it definitely does not change. The game I've been using to try this all out on is Tomb Raider (but I don't think this matters at the moment.) I'm thinking that something on my computer, maybe some hardware, is just not compatible with Glidos at least in terms of unlocking it. Here is my PC information:

Motherboard: (DDR400-800MHz FSB)ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe I865PE AGP8X DUAL DDR RAID w/AUD,USB2,LAN

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU w/ Hyper-Threading Technology 3.2GHz 800FSB 1MB Cache

RAM: 512 MB (256MBx2) PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR MEMORY (Corsair XMS High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader)

Video Board: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500, 256MB

Sound Board: 3D Wave On-Board 5.1 Sound Card

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional

One thing about my computer is different from most peoples'. The hard drive letter is 'I', not 'C'. It is this difference that I think is the root of the problem, but I can't really test that theory just yet. I've created a virtual C: drive on my computer, and it works great. When I install Glidos there, the GlidosID is completely different than when it is on the 'I' drive. However, I ran out of Glidos unlocks, so that will just have to wait.

Any help would be appreciated,
cjufnf

Nevermind! Problem solved! Paul hooked me up with some more unlock attempts. My theory of the drive lettering was correct. Glidos does not like my I: drive. It loves its new home on the virtual C: drive I created using Virtual Drive Creator.

Why on earth don't you have a regular C: drive? I'm surprised you haven't had more problems with that kind of setup!

Well, I had my computer custom built, and it has a whole lot of media drives and cd drives (8 in all). The people building it decided to make one of the media drives C: and the hard drive I. Actually, I never really had problems with the setup until Glidos, but now that I have virtual drive creator, my C: drive and I: drive are one in the same. So there should be no future problems.
