So it is a well know fact that mixing RAM with gold-plated connectors with a motherboard with tin connectors is a bad idea in the long-term due to the oxidation reaction of tin with gold.
Now, say you clean the gold contacts on the RAM sticks and tin them lightly but uniformly over the connector surface. Now the motherboard connector would mate with the tinned surface.
Would this solve the issue of the reaction at the connector level ?
I mean, its not like we don't already use tin to solder wires to gold connectors without this issue popping up.
