Gravis UltraSound ACE Rev 1.0 & 1.1 ISA (Boxed) (1994)

These were listed as defective and sold "as is" from a seller in EU. I took a gamble and they actually work just fine in my test rig right along with my SB16! Box is a nice bonus (with the exception of that stupid banner across the artwork) but I already own a better-boxed version so no biggie. The other bonus is that it came with both a rev 1.1 version but ALSO a rev 1.0 version that doesn't have the sound channel swap issue. So all in all, a win-win-win!

Look at the condition of the beauty! Is that an LCD monitor with a 286? Sorta reminds me of this Compaq "portable" suitcase system I had with an 8088, although it had a mini CRT.

Yes, it's a LCD screen on a 286-10. The system disks that shipped with it are dated 1987, but the receipt from the original owner shows it was purchased in 1989.

Why is there a photo of silent movie comedian Larry Semon on that box?

^^ there's a press photo of a Virtuality 1000CS on the inside flap, which is based on Amiga hardware & has nothing to do with Gravis too. 😜 Gotta wonder what their product designers were thinking.

True that. Yet they were really fun to game on. There were a kind of FPS game, wich I played against my brother.
It was that square platform, with 4 stairs going up and one small platform on top of each stairs.

Cheap, brand new case, but looks pretty retro 😀 Should be perfect for a DOS Box. ATX though, not AT, but that's fine, there's some nice ATX socket 7 motherboards I can use

I have 5 of theese NOS... I love them - really good quality. Minimalistyc retro look, no USB on front... very nice!

Is it possible to turn on a setting for this forum which removes images when quoting? Peeps can't seem to help quoting epic picture posts and leaving them in there for my first model iPad to struggle through.

Yamaha YST-M15 with subwoofer and Advent 370 with subwoofer systems.

I have to say although the Yamaha has treble the Advent has base and good treble too.
However neither compete with a klipsch Pro media 2,1 or a Bose Companion 3.

Fine choice! Same case I’m using for my 1997(ish) gaming build! 😁 pics of it all finished later on in the thread, I like this case a lot!

1997 (ish) gaming build

- P-MMX 200MHZ, PCChips M598LMR, Voodoo
- P-MMX 233MHz, FIC PA2013, S3 ViRGE + Voodoo
- PII 400MHz, MSI MS6119, ATI Rage Pro Turbo + Voodoo2 SLI
- PIII 1400MHz, ECS P6IPAT, Voodoo5 5500
- Toshiba Libretto 110CT, 300MHz, 96MB RAM

VoodooMAC 5500 PCI (sealed).

This one's an EXTREMELY RARE in sealed form - a lot rarer than a sealed Voodoo 5500 Mac US version (which is itself a very rare find). Mac gaming in Europe was practically non-existent during those times, so the amount of cards entering European market was very low let alone small fraction of them which have remained sealed until this date. Thanks to fellow vogons member for making this deal possible. 😉
