Hey guys,

having read the excellent article about Sound Blaster revisions on Nerdly Pleasures I am always on the search for new models. This time I got a very peculiar one:

File comment
SB16 CT2890
File license
Fair use/fair dealing exception

Notice the the lack of SPK out jack as well as the missing IDE interface. Also electronic circuitry and components surrounding signal amplification (for the SPK out) seems to be absent. What kind thing strange bird is this? 😀

A "normal" SB16 CT2890 is supposed to look like this:

Any ideas

OEM I'd say!

Here's one from a Gateway 2000

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CREATIVE-VIBRA-16- … O8AAOSwc95a7z2i

It has the typical white sticker on the back with the Gateway ID and date.

I'm after one of these myself but haven't jumped on that one - I want it for my Gateway 2000 P5-75 but I'm not sure if that model came with the 2890 or not yet. Trying to do a "restore to factory spec" type of setup for it!
