Hi guys. I'm italian, so, my english pherhaps would not be perfect.
I've created 2 builds for win9x gaming.
1
MB: ASUS TUV4X (Via 694X Apollo 133A)
CPU: Intel Celeron Tualatin 1.2Ghz
RAM: 256MB PC133 CL2
VIDEO: 3DFX Voodoo3 3000 AGP
AUDIO: Sound Blaster Live! Value
HDD: Maxtor 20.2GB ATA133 7200RPM
DVD Pioneer
Windows ME
2
MB: Abit BH6 (Intel 440BX)
CPU: Intel Celeron 300A
RAM: 128MB PC100
Video: Intel 740 + 3DFX Voodoo2 8MB
AUDIO: Sound Blaster AWE64 Value
HDD: SCSI UltraWide IBM 9GB
CD Rom Creative 48X
Windows 98SE
I would like some advices.
I usually use the first configuration because of the faster CPU, but i'm thinking to install a Coppermine (i have a 700mhzFSB100) and the voodoo3 on the ABIT and upgade the second build because i've read that the VIA chipset is less-performance that the intel. So the question is: it's true that the via can slow the system with a higher CPU or it's wrong?
Or esily it's no-sense use a two-year older build only for a "internet reading".
I have also a GeForce2MX, but the image quality in Tomb Raider III (which i'm playing now) is very bad opposite to the 3DFX.
