I have a brand-new Dreamblaster X2 that's working great on my CT2800 Soundblaster 16.

Is there a way to use MIXERSET.EXE to control the volume & whether it outputs anything at all? I believe it just gets sent the MPU-401 data that's also sent to external devices. But obviously if I want to use an external MIDI module, I don't want the Waveblaster part of the sound card on (or it should be a 0 volume).

Is this possible with MIXERSET.EXE or another DOS-based utility? Or do I have to use the USB-based modern PC settings app for the X2?

NM, found it. It's the slider called "MIDI" in MIXERSET.EXE. This doesn't seem to control the global MIDI volume as naively assumed, but the output level from the Waveblaster header. 😁
