Okay so I had this voodoo 5500 PCI in the cupboard for 15 years apparently, found it when I cleaned it out. I bought a bargain 3 ghz pentium 4, mobo and memory on ebay for £25.

Last night I put it all together and installed windows 98SE, the drivers, dx8 etc.

With that done I installed 3dmark01 ran at default and scored: 2736

Pleased with the fruits of my labour I decided to take a break, after pondering what glide games I was going to try out whilst on the shitter; I came back to see artifacts on the screen. Win98 unresponsible so I hit the reset button.

I could only manage getting into safe mode after this.

Is there anything I can do or is my voodoo 5500 fucked?
This has been the most depressing build ever, I used this guide: How to install Windows 98SE on a modern PC to allow me to run windows with 4gb of memory slotted, as I planned to dual boot windows XP as well.

Could that have something to do with it breaking???? Should I just end my life and put myself out of my misery? 😠 😠 😵

I have a voodoo 3000 PCI from my mum's old sempron 1.1ghz machine that has been in the cupboard also collecting dust.

I have replaced broken v5500 with it so I am not totally suicidal now, it's working... 2397 3dmark01 😢

Not meaning to sound course, but I would suggesting removing that ebay link before someone else removes it. Posting items for sale is prohibited on this forum.
