Recently I've acquired Intel LT430TX board with integrated PC Speaker, bur for some reason it does not function (external works fine). Is it even common for a PC speaker to just die?

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

See Page 29/30

You need to bridge pin 26/27 of the Front panel i/o connector to send the speaker signal to the internal buzzer. Otherwise it won't get the internal speaker signal.

Same with my AN430TX, i had to bridge the pins with a jumper for the speaker to work.
