Sorry if this it not allowed or in the wrong place, but I am looking for the system CD image from an Gateway 2000 486DX2 66. cd.textfiles.com has it but it's missing files and not a true image, if you have Version 4.2 (October 1994) or sometime after August 1994 (system was build 08-94) that would be super. Thanks a million.

It'll be hard to find. Sorry for not being of any help. What do you need the image for btw? I just use regular software and drivers as it's much easier to cope with.

Whats missing in your collections?

I like to keep my system's close to factory as I can. Plus my 1st PC all mine was a gateway 2000 486 DX 66, and I have found memory's of playing with the Gateway Mall on that CD.. I was young then so it was easy to entire me 😉

I think I have that CD. I will check out the version later.

But it isn't exactly a image restore. It has apps, drivers, Windows 3.1, amd some wacky Gateway extras.

I have a couple Gateway 2000 486dx-33’s
I really don’t like them. They are loud and slow and heavy. And the bios is terrible.
I can only get one to work. The other one will not recognize the hard drive.
I think I have it loaded with WinNT 351.
They need new cmos batteries too.

What is the CD image for this computer ?
I would like to get a Win 3x CD image for restore.

Yes, I think this is for a Gateway 2000 tower running WFW311
There is NO DOS so you will need to install DOS first.
I downloaded it an extracted to my PC in special folder. You can then burn to CD and run setup.exe from WFW311 folder.
Has drivers for Sound Blaster-16 and Media Vision-16 sound cards.
And video drivers for ATI, STB, Matrox, Cirrus Logic, WD and more.

I'm not having much luck finding my CD at all. I'm wondering if I ever actually had it now, as I can't recall this particular machine arriving at home boxed up, so I think it came home unboxed from my dad's company at the time.

It had Windows 95 on it for most of it's life too, and not the Win 3.11 I think it should have... I'll keep searching anyway, and If I don't have it, consider me someone who is looking for a copy

My P5-75 came with windows 3.11 originally
It was upgraded to Windows 95 but still have Win 3.11 files and option to uninstall Windows 95.
I don't care about 3.11 though and would even prefer a System CD with Windows 95 if there is one that supports this model.

Found some ISO downloads on archive.org:

https://archive.org/details/Gateway_2000_Syst … WW_Gateway_1994

https://archive.org/details/GW2KSysRes55

There appears to be versions available, with a different naming convention from 1998, example Version 98.1
