Hello,

First I must say: Glidos works really good ! Great work.

BUT - I have a little problem in Blood (yes its running 😉)

- when I got bitten by the little spiders, Glidos crashs to desktop.

I have testet varios settings but it´s allways the same. Sometimes there are first some graphic glitches and after 1sec it´s crashing, sometimes it´s crashing immediately. There is no error in the Glidos window.

Is this a known problem ?

I´m playing on a notebook (2,0Ghz P4mobile/Geforce6800Go256MB/1024MB Ram)
Glidos version 1.32

Please sorry for my bad English i hope you understand my problem 😊

Daniel

Is it not very slow on a 6800? Or do you have my updated version of OpenGlide?

no it runs very well. I think a 6800 is fast enough (even to play D3 or Q4)

Its not a question of raw speed. The 6800 has no support for paletted textures. OpenGlide has to constantly change the representing OpenGL textures in this case. Should run like a dog with no legs. I'd be interested to see your OpenGlid.log file.

Hi

Without glidos there isn't any problem.
But with glidos and openglide it crashes.
Tomb raider runs perfect, so i think it's no hardware problem. The sound in blood is allmost perfect too. I tried other glidewrappers and i have the same result.
Everytime when i got bitten by a spider (level e2m1 - shipwreck) the game go back to win.

Nah, I was saying that there are situations in Build engine games where the sound will make the game crash. Ken Silverman offers patch for Duke Nukem 3D and Shado Warrior for these situations.

I was just wondering if the sound was causing your problems but since you posted that the game doesn't crash without GliDOS then there must be something going on there instead.

Next step to try would be to run without VESA in GliDOS (if possible)...or play around with the different GliDOS options.

Hi again 😉

I really don´t know how to force GliDOS to don´t use VESA.
I tried allmost every setting in GliDOS.ini.

Here is a screenshot of my problem. 1-4 sec after this it crashs.

I think I have a general problem with my VESA support, because (with and without GliDOS) I can´t switch the resolution to more than 320x200 - NOLFB is running and CLI2NOP patch is activated.

Hey I find something out.

In fullscreen a error message pops up in a DOS window, it very short and says
something about video memory is .... I can´t read so fast.

Perhaps it´s helping 😢

Firstly, try this version of OpenGLide. It is specially for Blood on modern cards that have no paletted texture support. Inside the archive you wil find Glide2x.dll. Drop it into your Glidos folder inplace of the current one.

Secondly, do you have a savegame near where it crashes?

Something else to try. Look in your Glidos folder and find the two links called Glidos and GlidosF. Right-click and select properties. Under the "Program" tab, uncheck the "Close on exit" box. This may allow you to see the error message because the DOS box will stay open.

... and here is the savegame.

Just go slowly around the corner. On the right is the spider.

Your new glide2x.dll doesn´t change anything for me !

Hi,

has anyone tried my savegame yet ?

I tried it with dgvoodoo and evoodoo instead of OpenGLide - still the same.
Is it possible that it is a general error in Blood3Dfx ?

My thoughts exactly, but it may be a bug that depends on the amount of texture memory. When I have some time, I'll experiment with changing the amount of texture memory Glidos reports

Ok GliDOS,

I´m waiting (here 🤣 ) and hoping that you find a solution.

By the way - can I capture the Blood-Textures somehow ?
