I’m looking to add a dual 16550-based ISA serial board to a Tandy with 8-bit ISA slots. What are the odds that these will do dual duty and work fine on a 8-bit slot PC?

There are 4 leads on the 16 bit extender. Will this work for me?

Thanks.

As long as you are using IRQs 3,4 or 5, I presume it would work fine in an 8 bit slot.

Not sure where you are located, but I have piles of 8b I/O cards I'd happily donate (if you cover shipping from NL) to anyone actually willing to use them. PM me if interested 😉

Looking at the allocations, I think they are for the high IRQ lines, so it may work with that part hanging or cut off.

Do you need two ports, this single port is way less expensive

I do need two lines. Mouse and WiFi modem. I ordered this. Sounds like it will work fine. Thanks.

I have the Startech card and can confirm both ports work (using standard IRQs 4&3) in a Tandy 1000SX.
