I've picked up a Sensation II in excellent physical condition, basically looks brand new on the inside and very good on outside.

Has a DX2/66 overdrive installed, what looks like 8mb of memory, and the factory hard drive/expansion cards.

The problem is that there is no POST at all when I apply power. The CD-ROM and hard drive power up and self-test, there is no beep or floppy seek.

I verified that the PSU is supplying 5v and 12v (and -5v). I uninstalled all expansion cards and ribbon connectors. I've tried switching back to the on-board CPU (from the Overdrive processor).

I have packed away all my ISA VGA cards, but disabling on-board VGA didn't change behaviour at all.

Some fairly high-quality photos of the motherboard with all cards removed is at https://imgur.com/a/XtY53jq I see nothing that looks remotely suspicious here.

I've verified that the voltages supplied to the ISA slots and to the BIOS are correct. The BIOS is an EPROM, possibly it has been corrupted, I pulled the chip and dumped the ROM images, they are attached below.

I just moved, so once I find my NICE multimeter I'll see if the ISA CLK signal is correct. The dumped BIOS itself boots to a "Default loaded, press F2 to enter setup" prompt so it's at least MOSTLY correct.

then if the bios at least shows something, there may be a problem in the board
can you check with ram in other slot? or with different ram sticks, or with a different psu maybe

Can't find any of my AT PSU's, we just moved and it's all packed up! I ordered an ATX to AT psu adapter and a BIOS post board from Amazon.

I've swapped the RAM around quite a bit with no change. I at least know where my memory is packed up, hoping to get to it this evening.

I'm hoping it's a jumper setting. I've found several photographs of Sensation motherboards with W6 and W7 jumpers in the 1-2, 2-3 position respectively, and this unit shipped with them in the 1-2, 1-2 position.

The 1-2, 1-2 positions seem to be correct based on the board silkscreen (W6 1-2 = Default, W7 1-2 = DX/DX2/SX), but tandy faxback documentation says jumpers should be at 1-2 (DX/DX2/overdrive processors) and 2-3 (i487SX and overdrive processors supported.

WIsh me luck, I'll test it out as soon as I get home.

It seems to have been a combination of 1-2, 2-3 jumpers for W6 and W7, and moving the SIMMS from the slots closest to the front of the case to the slots closest to the back.

It works great now, I'm super happy!

Are you using an SE/30 as an external monitor?? What kind of mods did you have to do to get a video input into it?

Hah, it was a hopeless destroyed SE/30 I gutted and put an LCD monitor and whatnot into. I had a writeup on it on vcfed, but here's an early version before I finished it up:

I added a VGA keystone to the back and attached to teh LCD VGA input so I can use it as a portable monitor AND Raspberry Pi gaming box. It's also a composite video monitor for my Tandy 1000/TRS80 machines.
