Do drivers such as NT4 PCI IDE card drivers work in NT 3.51? I'm having a hard time finding NT 3.51 drivers for a PCI Promise Ultra 100 TX2 card. In general, NT 3.51 drivers are hard to find.

3.51 to 4 had some serious subsystem rework done, video and printer drivers were moved from safe but slow Ring 3 to fast but very unsafe Ring 0. MS rectified this mistake in win7

Looks like ide drivers might also been affected http://ps-2.kev009.com/pcpartnerinfo/ctstips/4312.htm

"2.1.6.2.3 Upgrading PIIXIDE driver from NT 3.51 to NT 4.0
If you upgrade the system from NT 3.51 to NT 4.0 with previous PIIX IDE driver installed, Windows NT Event Viewer logs the following error log message:
"Driver detected an internal error in its data structure..""

I'm finding the same thing. I think its going to come down to trial and error. My YMF sound card says the NT4 drivers are the correct drivers for 3.51

I used the Promise Ultra 100 TX2 NT4 drivers during installation of NT 3.51 and the system has not yet complained. I've noticed that Matrox has supplied some NT 3.5 drivers, but they don't mention which graphic card.
