First post, by Necrodude
Hello everybody on this forum.
This is my first post ever on this forum. I have been around and on this forum reading and reading for years and I really love this forum.
What can I say about myself. I am 37 years old. I live in Sweden, and I work as an Electrician. I have been playing around with computers since I was 12 years old. I started to attend to Lan:s when I was 16 years old. And have been laning nonstop since then. Nowdays I am arranging and attending retroLans a couple of times every year. At our retroLans you arent allowed to have newer stuff then the 31 dec 1999.
More about that here:

Recently I built my own 1999 Amd K6-3+ rig with a geforce256 card, and I found this exciting thread
AMD K6 3DMARK, aiming for stars.
I really enjoyed that thread. I gave it a try and realised I couldn't compete with the excellent scores posted in that thread.
I am a Quake fan and have spent a lot of time getting out as much performance as possible out of quake2 and quake3.
Overclocking, cpu, gpu, registry hacks, bios settings, cfg files. My scores in quake2 and quake3 is right now as follows.
Quake2 timedemo 1, map demo1.dm2 127fps 800x600 resolution
Quake3 timedemo1, demo four 86 fps. 800x600 resolution
My system
Motherboard: Asus P5A rev 1.04 latest bios
Cpu: Amd k6-3+ 616mhz
Gpu: Geforce 256 stock speeds
Memory: 128mb sdram c2 timings
The rules is simple.Any K6, k6-2 ,k6-3 cpu, Full screen. Any gpu. Any OS, any resolution.
So basically no rules except some sort of k6 cpu and a sound card.
High scores is all that counts.
Please post your tweaks 😀 I gonna put them to good use 😀
Anyone up for it?
Edit: I will later this evening post some screenshots and a youtube video of my rigg running timedemos in quake
