Hi there

I recently got Windows XP and started using Glidos with Tombraider. I had to use the advanced installer which I got from Tombraiderchronicles in order to play TR on XP. The version I've got of the game is the Sold Out version and so I've never heard the ambient background sounds. That was until I recently downloaded the audiopack that works with Glidos. The only problem was that I still could not hear the dialogue during the cutscenes e.g Lara and Larson at the of Tomb of Qualopec. Today though I burned a CD with the files from the TR CD along with audio files which I also got from Tombraiderchronicles. Now I can hear the background ambient sounds and also the dialgoue during the cutscenes. I seem to have trouble through with the cutscenes when the audio pack folder is in the Glidos folder. I can't hear the dialogue when the audio folder is there, but when I remove it I can hear the cutscenes.

Any help with this is much appreciated 😀

I assume you hear the ambient tracks with the audio pack alone? That's odd.

Edit your Glidos.ini file and make sure the Tomb Raider entry has the following options:

Mp3BackgroundSounds: Yes
RedbookEmulation: Yes

Hmmm, if I remember that is by design. When Glidos spots the Audio folder, it turns off RedbookEmulation independently of the ini-file setting. If it didn't do that, then you'd get both the CD and MP3 version playing symultaneously.

The best plan would be to look through the audiopack revival thread here on vogons and pick up the new triggers for the cut scenes. We must consolidate al that work soon.

Right, thanks 😀

Another problem seems to be that the cut scenes are slightly out of synch with audio e.g the cutscene with Lara and Larson finishes before the dialogue. Dgvoodoo seems to suffer with this problem also, is there any way to fix this?
