Strange sound problem in Blood

Hi !

I have a weird problem with Blood. The game starts normal with sound.I can hear the background music. But when the game starts only the music plays. I move the mouse and in that moment the digi-sound starts ( "I liiiiiiive agaaiiin" with a long stuttering delay).The sound plays for a second or so and then silence again. I can play but i have to keep on moving the mouse 😀

I tried different configs (GUS,different SB types ,General Midi,music off). I switched mouse control off in the setup, started it with dos32a,different dosbox builds ,installed the demo etc pp but nothing helps.

Please help me out if anyone knows. Oh, sound in other games like Duke3D or ShadowWarrior work without that effect.

I do not understand what you think is wrong.... If you mean stuttering, then it is normal - Blood is very demanding game and unless you play in low resolution on a high end computer you will have problems in DOSBOX...
Lower cycles to get better sound (but the game will be slower as well). I am not sure whether it works with dynamic core (Blood used to crash after a while when using dynamic core).

Don't play Build games in DosBox.

Seriously.

Use the ports for DUke3D/Shadow Warrior.

If you can bear horrible sound support then play RR/Blood in Windows XP.

If you want to play the games properly on a modern machine but don't have sufficent DOS support then run the games in a Window 98 command prompt. This is the absolute best option for these games.

The game runs slick as soap. It`s not a performance issue.The sound doesnt stutter while moving the mouse. Theres something with the mouse control and the digisound. The music plays all the time without stuttering. I dont get it... 😒

Thanks for the replies. I`ll try to get it to work in XP like you said.
