It works just fine for me. Do you have the 868 KB RESOURCE.AUD file in your installed directory?

Yes, I do.

I've checked the resource.aud file and it seems to be all there so it's not corrupted or missing or anything.

I really don't understand it. It's just silent. It'll work and load up the game alright, but other than the music coming out of my CM-500 I don't hear any sound whatsoever. I guess I should also point out that I'm using version 0.63. But I HAVE tried it with older versions.

It really doesn't make much sense. Have you tried a clean install? I don't think that it would make much difference, but I am using a CVS build of DOSBox. DOSBox SVN Builds

I've just tried it with Space Quest 4 (CD version, same audio driver) and no sound there either. This is really bugging me. Can anyone point out that different sound blaster 16 patch to me please?

I didn't need to do this. What version of the game do you have? Mine is 1.03. Also there is a patch for the speed bugs from NewRisingSun for this game.

Yes I've used them all. I tried doing a clean install from the CD for SQ4 and it worked fine. I think it was all the speed and SB16 patches that wouldn't let the audio work at all. I haven't tried it with SQ5 yet, but I'm sure that's it as well.

It's too bad as New Rising Sun's patches were far better than the original...🙁

I take it that you have one of the collections, as you said that it is on CD. Mine is the floppy version. What version number is yours? Have you tried using a default dosbox.conf?
