I am new to dosbox but fairly PC literate.
I have managed to get one pinball game (Epic) installed and working, but every time I install Psyco and attempt to run, I get a message that the CD must be in the drive to run. I have tried mounting the CD Drive, but it won't install, and when I attempt to run from the mounted "C" drive I get the above message. How can I overcome this please.

Please post here all the exact commands you typed in when mounting all drives.

I have my games in a folder names "Oldgames", and I copy all files from the Psycho CD to the oldgames folder

To mount I type Mount c c:\oldgames

At the Z:> I type C:

At C:\ I type install

During the install I am asked to specify my CD drive, default is D, but I have tried both D & C but neither have any effect. A folder named Psycho is created on the mounted C:\oldgames, and after the installation completes it passes to a C:\psycho command, at which stage I have tried typing Psycho and _P_ both pass the next stage Dos4 protected mode etc and I reach a message to the effect "Psycho must me run from the C:\drive with the cd in your cd rom drive" that's not verbatim but near enough what it says.

Hope this helps to establish what I am doing wrong, as I note from other post's that other have successfully managed to run this game.

Many thanks

I have tried mounting a D Drive as a CD drive, but I cannot install to it as it is a CD in the drive. Are you suggesting I mount a D Drive by some other method, if so what is the syntax please, how do I overcome the game asking for the CD in the drive. I have looked for an inf file to see if I can alter the location of D to C, but I am unable to find one.

mount c c:\oldgames
mount d d:\ -t cdrom
d:
install

You need to have BOTH your hard drive and CD drive mounted at the same time in order to install a game from the CD to your hard drive.

Hunterz thanks for that it worked a treat,

Qbix I haven't tried your solution as the other worked okay, I have copied and saved it for future reference though,

Thanks to you both once again.
