can anyone help me figure this out?
i bought 2 x kingston-1gb-sodimm-pc2700 modules for cheap on ebay
was pleased when they came shipped fast but put them in and they dont work
from what i can tel the specs are all correct for my Toshiba P35-S611 laptop (pentium 4)

is anyone aware of any details that aer different between these two modules? that would cause incompatibility?
the KTT3311/1G is what is reccommended in the specs manual that i found here:

Generic RAM testing advise; test one module at a time in each slot until you find your fault.

Screw period correct, I wanted a faster system back then. I choose no dropped frames, super fast loading, fully compatible and quiet operation.

Terms like "high density" and "low density" are meaningless outside of a very specific context in time. If you want to help, indicate the exact max density of the memory controller in question.

With 1GB modules, the difference you indicate would be between 512Mb chips (16 to a(n SO-) DIMM and 1Gb chips (8 to a(n SO-) DIMM.

For more general compatibility, it's the RAM chips themselves, not the modules that matter. Instead of those stock pics, look at the exact chips in your laptop. Post the codes from the old (known good) modules and the ones from the new (not working as desired) modules. That would also tell us denisty and layout.

OP, you say "they dont work". Exactly what behaviour do you see when you put them in your laptop?
