those are the drivers i used, in fact i installed the catalyst control center v6.1, and yes, i got that message after and before i updated the drivers. Hardware acceleration is set to full if that makes any difference.

Are you sure the installation was successful. Might be worth using ATI's catalyst uninstaller tool, and then reinstalling. I suggest that, because having Microsoft's drivers rather than ATI's always causes this problem, and I have never before seen a case of the problem being there with the drivers installed.
Do you have any other OpenGL programs that you can run to make sure OGL is working correctly?
I used the catalyst installer to install the drivers. The install i got from ATI was the 34Mb control center with drivers. According to device manager, the driver is provided by ATI and is only 24 days old, and is on the MS compatability list. So I think i have the correct driver.
As for other OpenGL programs, I'm sure i have some, but I'm not sure which ones they are. So I downloaded an OpenGL benchmarking program and it ran fine.
It started working, not real good performance, but working. I'm not sure what i did, but i will list everything i did after running the benchmarking prog. I tried to run it without opening glidos server and got an error saying it could not find glide2x.dll. I copied that file from the glidos directory to the redguard directory. Then i ran the game again without the glidos server and got the error 'could not find glidos server'. So i then ran redguard through the glidos server and it worked. tested it on several modes, full screen and windowed, all worked at about the same performance. Then deleted the glide2x.dll from the redguard directory and it still worked. Thanks for the help guys. The only problems i have now is performance issues such as jerky videos and sound, kinda like a scratched dvd. Maybe I was doing something wrong on my end, or maybe a odd glitch, whichever its gone now.
Search your system for any other glide2x.dll files. Most likely they'll be in your \Windows or \Windows\System32 directory.
This is likely why Redguard still works. (EDIT- Oops, thought you meant GliDOS folder).
It's worth it to look for glide2x in your \windows and \windows\system32 folders too in case GliDOS is using another glide emulator, that could be causing performance problems.
I think the glide2x.dll file in the Redguard folder will have had no effect (and hence its deletion no effect either). Being DOS based, Redguard looks for glide2x.ovl
Hmmm, is there still a glide2x.dll in C:\Program Files\Glidos ?
Are the performance problems just during the movies?
The performance problems are mainly during the movies, but the main menu is kinda slow. The gameplay is fine. Well, I don't guess you could ask for everything, I don't find the movies all that important anyway.
There is no other glide2x.dll files on my computer.
